Bellows Subassembly - The BCG Disc Ring Cap Adult ABA is used in anesthesia delivery systems to provide complex bellows-style upward ventilation. The system helps by drawing in ambient air which can be enriched with oxygen from cylinders. The bellows assembly contains the disc-mounted bellows, cast with dampers to make it strong and durable. The bellows filled with anesthetic gas is placed in a rigid plastic outer cavity. Pressurized gas flows between the bellows and its outer plastic chamber. This compresses the bellows, where available anesthetic gas is delivered from the respiratory system to the patient, creating a double circuit. Using the rising bellows makes the bellows assembly, as well as the entire anesthesia delivery system, safe as the bellows will not inflate if an electrical disconnection occurs.
